Going Green

Recently, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a warning to consumers regarding an outbreak of E. coli in the United States.  According to the CDC: "CDC advises that consumers not eat and retailers not sell any romaine lettuce grown in the Salinas, California growing region. This includes all use-by dates and brands of romaine lettuce from this region."

Etiwanda Child Nutrition does not serve any of the romaine lettuce included in this warning.

Our romaine lettuce supplier, United Fresh Produce, has confirmed they do not receive any romaine lettuce from the Salinas, California growing region.

The CDC is advising you to not eat or buy any lettuce unless you can confirm it is not from the Salinas, California growing region.  Please click here for the full CDC Food Safety Alert regarding this issue.

As we are facing challenges with power outages, we are taking precautions to ensure that the food we serve is safe for your students.
